Customer Spotlight: Kasia Puchta, AstraZeneca

Kasia is a Talent Acquisition Technology, Processes & Candidate Experience Manager at AstraZeneca, and has been using Beamery’s Talent Lifecycle Management solution for 18 months. This month, Kasia is the focus of our Customer Spotlight, in recognition of how she has been using the platform to unlock human potential at her organization.

Beamery: What is your favorite Beamery feature, and why?

Kasia: The feature that AstraZeneca is really benefiting from is the Beamery automation module – Recipes.

We have been using Recipes for a number of tasks, but the major win for us has been using this to manage candidates’ and prospects’ data privacy consent.

Together with our Beamery Client Success Manager, we have built a solution that is a combination of Recipes and Campaigns, which enables us to make sure we are compliant with the law when it comes to keeping candidates data protected in our Talent Acquisition systems.

B: What problem does this solve?

K: Like probably everyone who works with recruiting systems, we are very focused on making sure that we are compliant with data privacy laws and we transparently inform our candidates about why and how we store their data.

Depending on where a candidate is based, we are only able to store their data for a specific period of time after their initial consent.

Thanks to Beamery Recipes, we have built a number of rules that constantly run in the background of our system to identify profiles that are getting close to the consent expiry date. Once a profile is identified, the Recipe alerts Beamery to send a re-consent Campaign, which informs the candidate about actions to take if they would like to continue to be stored in our recruiting systems. The Campaign will ask candidates to provide re-consent a couple of times.

If the candidate is willing to be informed about work opportunities with AstraZeneca and happy for us to keep their details in the systems, they can opt in via the link we share with them in those emails. If we don’t get any response from a candidate, Beamery will tag their profile so it is marked in Workday as a profile to delete. After a period of time the candidate’s record will be removed from Beamery.

B: How has this made your job easier?

K: Beamery helped us to build a strategy for managing candidate data consent. Thanks to the automations we have built in Beamery, we don’t need to do any manual work with identifying profiles that need to be asked for consent again, or removed from our database.

Everything is being done without any human interaction in the process. We have been saving a lot of time, but are also becoming better and better in terms of compliance with data privacy laws.

So far, AstraZeneca has seen a reduction in the time to obtain a candidate’s consent for data storage, and an increase in data quality!

“There's so many things you can automate using Beamery Recipes! The sky's the limit!”

B: Tell us something surprising about yourself.

K: The first thing I would do if I won a lottery, would be to open a shelter for dogs and cats. Helping animals is what gives me the most joy and fulfillment in life.

About the Beamery Customer Spotlight

This program exists to highlight Beamery customers who have mastered the art of “unlocking human potential” through consistent (and smart) use and adoption of the Beamery platform. They use Beamery to take their company to the next level while elevating the talent experience for all candidates. Beyond being a fabulous talent-driven individual, these individuals also represent one or many of the Beamery values: start with why, own the change you seek, act with kindness, communicate openly, make a positive impact.
