Aidan O’Brien is a Talent Sourcing Specialist at Workday and has been using Beamery’s Talent Lifecycle Management solution for 3 years. This month, he is the focus of our Customer Spotlight, in recognition of how he has been using Beamery to unlock human potential at his organization.

Beamery: What is your favorite Beamery feature, and why?

Aidan: The Talent Discovery and Campaign features. As a Talent Sourcer, I love using Beamery as that first port of call in executing my sourcing strategy. I will use the Search feature to find previous applicants or silver medalists who have previously engaged with us. This quickly adds candidates into the pipeline before we even start engaging in external searches.

The Pipeline feature is equally vital for me: not every candidate wants to engage right away, so adding candidates to pools for future roles has brought me lots of success.

B: What problems does Beamery solve?

A: There are many strategies we adopt in sourcing candidates, and re-engagement is something I am really passionate about. I love finding candidates who applied to our roles but at that exact moment it was not the right time for them. Beamery allows me to tag these candidates and add them to the pipeline for roles in the future, and it also allows me to keep them engaged with our brand via Beamery marketing campaigns. The Pipeline feature helps ensure we can build a pool of ‘warm’ candidates before we open our requisitions, which allows us to get candidates to interview faster… rather than losing the first few weeks in the req sourcing.

B: How has this made your job easier?

A: It has allowed me to be proactive rather than reactive. I can build pipeline for current and future roles. In recruitment we can get siloed, and overly focused into going from req to req. Beamery has allowed me to approach hiring from a skills perspective, and now I can consider candidates for multiple roles across the business.
