Raising $138m to Put Talent Transformation at the Heart of Every Business

I couldn’t be more proud to share that Beamery has raised a $138m Series C round led by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (Ontario Teachers’), with participation from Accenture Ventures alongside existing investors EQT Ventures, Index Ventures, M12 and Workday Ventures. 

This is the latest significant milestone in our mission to bring talent transformation to the heart of every business, and I am thrilled to welcome 2 new fantastic partners in OTPP and Accenture, both of which share our vision around creating a more diverse, more equitable future of work.  

After a tumultuous 2020 that saw swings in the labour market that we’ve not seen ever before, global organisations are now hiring at pace in an increasingly competitive talent market. In Q1 alone we saw a 462% increase in jobs posted across our customer base, compared with the same period in 2020. The number of candidates pipelined only rose by 46% however - demand is already significantly outstripping supply.

Faced with a rising tide of skills shortages and exploding competition it’s never been harder for businesses to hire the right talent and, with remote work in the ascendancy, talent markets look very different. Location is no longer a barrier, and so companies are facing threats to their talent pool from across the globe. 

In this new war for talent, being “talent first” is no longer optional. Companies that are not talent first, C-Suites that are not talent first, will be left behind.

Beamery’s vision is to create a set of technologies and a set of outcomes for organizations that allows them to be much more strategic in the way they approach talent acquisition, talent management, and talent retention. Whether that’s prioritizing potential candidates that are likely to thrive, reaching diversity targets, providing better learning opportunities and career pathways for existing employees, and understanding the skills and capabilities they need to ultimately build their workforce of the future. 

As much as I’m excited for the future, these milestone moments also offer the perfect opportunity for reflection - and I want to take this time to say thank you.

We employ incredibly smart people, people that are so talented, they could be working almost anywhere.
